The Basix™ grid view now provides sorting, filtering, grouping, summary values, conditional formatting and export to Microsoft Excel.
After a Basix™ application end-user finds the data they need, manipulating this data is as simple as drag-n-drop. Dragging a column heading into the grouping area shuffles the data into a tree style hierarchy, with as many levels as you need to present the data the way you need to see it and use it. Totals, counts, average and standard deviation are all available within the grid based on configuration settings. Clicking column headings is all that is needed to sort the remaining data ascending or descending (with a second click). If the data contains unneeded information, this can be easily removed by applying additional filters that trim the data and reduce the selected set.
The adminstrator can configure conditional formatting so that colour and other formatting can be used per record line or per cell in the grid. For example - cancelled flight booking entries can be automatically shown in strike-through font with a yellow background.
Often users find business data in the application that they need or want to perform additional complex calculations on for a quick or adhoc report. It is as simple as right-clicking the grid to export the grouped, sorted and filtered data to Microsoft Excel, complete the necessary layout changes and calculations and then print or save the report. If they need to get the data back into the Basix™ application after making change in Excel, a bulk import facilities is provided as a standard feature of the Basix:Platform®.
