With over 14 years providing complex software solutions, EMS are aware of the challenges involved in implementing reliable IT change management processes. Basix:Builder® now makes change management simpler by automatically scripting all changes that are made interactively in Basix:Builder® and outputting these into a SQL script file. The system administrator can upgrade these changes to a Test databases simply by applying these SQL scripts and re-testing the application. Once testing is completed, the scripted changes can be applied directly to the pre-production and production environments, eliminating the chance of error. In this way, system administrators or IT consultants create and refining business solutions graphically with the Basix:Builder® and then provide batch update scripts for the final deployment into Production environments.
All generated patch scripts support automatic version checking for the correct patch number and implement transactions so that the generated patch either installs completely or roll back with appropriate error messages. This simplified deployment capability of Basix™ is a considerable time saver and vastly improves the accuracy and quality of upgrades and enhancements to business applications.
