Airports face many challenges in their daily operations. Being important infrastructure within the transport systems of a country, it is important that they be maintained to approved standards and importantly for the owners, that they are operated in a cost effective manner. Each airport is like a miniature city, with key assets being the visible face of the business, while income producing systems may be almost transparent to the airport user.
Basix™ Airport Manager is designed to assist regional or local airport operators in managing the airport via one central system. It provides a means for tracking taxiway usage and calculating usage fees based on air services rules and return on investment formulas. Income streams from terminal usage, café takings, car parking, fuel sales and other building rentals and leases can be recorded. Airside inspections and maintenance as well as other asset maintenance can be managed and recorded.
Important licensing details and airside visits for both staff and external parties can be recorded. Supplier and maintenance providers can be recorded and maintained. Simple time sheeting and job completion recording provides better time and cost management.
Reporting, document generation and file attachment allow the airport operator to easily manage the time consuming tasks of monthly reporting, airport user invoicing and ad hoc analysis of the performance and income from various facets of the business. Integration with information from the Air Services Aircraft Register allows invoicing and follow-up on usage fees to be a simple and repeatable process. Timesheet information can be reported out to an external payroll system.
System administration remains in the hands of a key user or users. This allows for simple maintenance of the Basix™ Airport Manager system without the need for changes by the software vendor. The consistent look and feel of the product makes learning and use of the system a straightforward and intuitive process that can be picked up easily by new staff. Behind the scenes, the system is built on the reliability and robustness of an industry standard relational database (Microsoft SQL Server). User security controls access to and visibility of business sensitive information, and auditing can be enabled on any business data to track additions or changes, ensuring the right people are using critical business data.
Basix™ Airport Manager can be configured to be simple and narrow focussed, or broad and wide ranging depending on the specific needs of your airport.
